Based in Blaydon-on-Tyne in the North East of England, the company has production space in its two factories of 50,000 sq.ft, it employs over 100 people.
The company has over 35 years experience in supplying specialist fabrications to many sectors of industry. Tegrel specialises in designing products to meet the specifications and schedules of our customers. In recent years the experience gained in producing enclosures has been expanded into producing a large range of specialist sign enclosures for signage on the UK road networks. Tegrel is the major UK supplier of Variable Message Signs for installation by the Highways Agency in this country and other road authorities around the world. These VMS sign enclosures account for over 80% installed in the UK. In addition to these sign enclosures we manufacture information enclosures for use by local councils and authorities for car parks and direction information as well as signage for Railways, Airports, sporting and industrial applications.
MANUFACTURING
Using CAD/CAM processes and DNC equipment, the most up to date high-tech resources are put to use in producing high quality components for reliable production. The guillotine capacity of 3m is complemented by the CNC punch presses and 150 tonne, 4m press brakes.
Welding facilities to A.S.M.E. IX and BS4870 standard, for a range of steels and stainless steels, are in place and the company has particular skills in working with aluminium to BS8118. Stud and spot welding equipment for all the above mentioned materials provides a sometimes irreplaceable service.
Paint Finishing
A standard range of Tegrel paint systems, complied with the aid of the UK’s leading paint manufactures gives a program of protection to meet a wide range of potential environmental hazards, which have been approved by Blue Chip organisations for use in a number of demanding environments. The paint systems make a variety of products, in both wet spray and dry spray powder paints.
Transport Fleet
Tegrel run a fleet of delivery vehicles complimentary to the wide range of products that are produced, i.e. Low load vans for site unloading, curtain side 7.5 tonne wagons for easy fork lift access to control panels, and flat bed 40T vehicles with Hiabs where overhead gear or no lifting gear is available. Vehicles are equipped with mobile telephones for constant update of delivery times and changes. This allows the goods to be delivered to the customer effectively with the minimum disruption at point of receipt.

Tegrel Ltd. specialises in the manufacture of a range of sheet metal products in mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium and an associated range of products and accessories. The company places particular emphasis on continuous development and improvement to utilise technologies and equipment in its design and manufacture. The company is quality approved to ISO9001-2000 and ISO14001 accreditation by Lloyds Register.
