Columbia Energy was formed in 1989 to provide engineering, environmental and project management solutions. Columbia Energy has grown to become a full-service company specializing in providing technical and managerial solutions in nuclear, defense and hazardous waste markets. Our capabilities are broad and diverse. Our staff includes managers, engineers and scientists with advanced degrees, specialized training and experience in handling the most difficult and complex projects. One of our key strengths is our ability to provide engineering and design services that are fully integrated with the environmental compliance and safety requirements that must be met for a project to be successful. Our staff has experience with not only the engineering aspects of the projects, but also with the environmental and safety regulations, personnel and radiation protection, and industrial safety requirements commensurate with these projects. We have recently added a full service design and drafting department staffed by highly experienced professionals and expanded our process instrumentation and controls services department. We are currently working with a proprietary evaporator technology that is safer, more robust and much more cost effective than other products on the market. We have also teamed up with a research firm to provide a ceramic stabilization process for hazardous and radioactive waste that is more durable than and less costly than vitrification.
