Summary of Company business, capabilities and products:
A mechanical handling specialist with a strong background in bespoke equipment. We design and build on one site. Established 1984 from the ruins of R Lawson (engineers) Ltd (est 1965), we are a small professional compny, 20-strong, split equally between workshop and design office, turnover £3M- £4M per annum. Our main area of work is in the oil and gas sector where we supply wire rope and umbilical winches, cranes and ROV handling systems. These are usually variations on a theme but get similar enough to be called products. Many of thes are for handling men (divers, maintenance, etc). On-shore we supply goods and passenger lifts, conveyors, purpose built special machines, pressure vessels and general handling equipment. We very much have a 'what would you like' aproach; flexible, responsive and and thoughtful. The capability of the company is that we can produce all non-proprietary items ourselves in-house. We also use a network of long-term relationship subcontractors to supplement our own effort - though all items are controlled and routed through LE workshop for assembly and proof testing.
