Over its 20 years, SBV has established itself as a high quality steel fabrication and machining company, serving customers in the mining, steel, nuclear, public infrastructure, re-cycling, process, and high-end general industrial sectors. With a focus on complex and demanding projects and supply programmes, often time-critical and working in challenging environments, the company operates from two facilities in the north of England.
The Middlesbrough facility comprises a 2.4 acre site with a 6,250 sq. ft. office and a 23,000 sq. ft. 60ft. high under-cover fabrication operation with a lifting capability of 2x15t and 1x30t. The site can handle fabrications on a large scale, either as one-off projects or for series production. From Q4 2009, the company has a newly upgraded investment in a large segregated "clean conditions" manufacturing area for nuclear-standard stainless steel fabrication.
The plant at Hartlepool is some 50,000 sq. ft. and comprises machining and fabrication operations. The specialised nature of the equipment at Hartlepool is well suited to large and small scale production, with a special capability in one-off or low volume components requiring very large machines. The availability of integrated fabrication and machining also offers significant flexibility for customers, particularly for equipment and infrastructure refurbishment projects.
We manufacture in-house and are experts in steel fabrication, erection, on-site installation, commissioning, dismantling and refurbishment. We provide turnkey management of programmes from design through to CDM management and principal contractor, and manage the full complement of other sub-contracted services on behalf of our customers where required.
