Overview of Search
Since our inception in Glasgow in 1987, our focus has always been on doing things differently. As a result of this, by 1999 Search Consultancy was established as the largest independent recruitment solutions company in Scotland. Following a management ‘buy-in/buy-out’ in February 2000 we implemented a major new growth strategy to develop super sites across key metropolitan markets in the UK and establish ourselves as a leading, premium supplier of recruitment solutions.
Within the following year we opened three major new sites in Manchester, Crawley and Leicester and were recognised by ‘PriceWaterhouseCoopers’ as the UK’s fastest growing ‘total recruitment solutions’ company in their 2001 ‘Profit Track 100’ survey published in The Sunday Times. Since that time we have continued this strategy and sustained an annual growth rate at a level almost double that of the recruitment industry as a whole.
Since early 2000 we have over doubled overall group turnover to £120 million (2007), added a further 7 new sites across the UK to a current total of 13 and we now employ over 600 recruitment professionals across all our 20 specialist recruitment divisions and support services. Our strategic plan over the next 3 years is to continue this expansion into the remaining main geographical markets within the UK including Bristol, Nottingham, Newcastle and Cardiff.
As part of our ongoing growth objectives, we also aim to develop a future presence in key European markets in line with our client’s requirements and wider market opportunities. We already operate key partnerships with recruitment organisations in Poland and Eastern Europe to recruit staff for our ‘Overseas Staffing Solutions Division’ this service is currently undergoing rapid expansion.

Our rapid organic growth and high levels of client retention are testimony to this fact. Search Consultancy is owned and led by its Directors and is constantly focused on delivering the highest standards of service and tangible benefits to our clients and on continuing to grow our business organically in the future as a result of our success in achieving these objectives.
It is our strategy to work in true partnership with our clients. Introducing performance based contracts and entering into ‘risk and reward’ agreements demonstrates our commitment to meet key performance indicator targets contained within our client’s service level agreements.
