Blood donor sessions at Sellafield

Blood donor sessions at Sellafield
The next blood donor sessions at Sellafield are scheduled for Tuesday 20 June, Wednesday 21 June and Thursday 22 June. Sessions will run between 11:30-15:30 in the Assembly Hall.

Did you know that NHS Blood and Transplant needs to collect 6000 units of blood every day to meet the needs of patients in England and North Wales alone, and that every blood donation can save up to three lives?

Please call 0300 123 23 23 to book an appointment for this session. You will receive a Donor Health Check Questionnaire in the post before the session date. Please fill this in prior to your session and take it with you when you check in.

Amanda Eccles, NHS Blood and Transplant’s Senior Marketing Coordinator, said: “Every time someone donates a unit of blood, their donation saves or improves the lives of up to three people. Blood donations are precious.

“Regular blood donors here would have helped to save thousands of lives and we cannot thank them enough. Unfortunately, a number of these donors may no longer be able to donate in the future due to health or other reasons so we need people like you to come forward and help ensure patients always get the blood they need.”

You can register as a donor, find out whether there is a session coming up in your area and book an appointment to donate whenever and wherever you are through or by using the app on your Android, Windows or Apple device. To download an app for your device, search ‘NHSGiveBlood’ in the app store.’
