Socio Economic achievements

  • Over 5,700 primary school children took part in science related workshops both at Sellafield and Risley

  • 55 students from Warrington schools took part in ‘Discovery Scholarship’ programme
  • The 1st joint Engineering Challenge took place with GENII to support National Science Week
  • Over 9,000 secondary school children took part in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) related activities

More than 5,700 primary school children took part in science related workshops within the Sellafield and Risley areas.

With over 9,000 secondary school children taking part in STEM related activities organised and funded by Sellafield Ltd with the ongoing help and support of over 200 Sellafield Ltd STEM ambassadors.

The 1st joint Engineering Challenge took place to support National Science Week, this was in partnership with GENII who are a training provider and Sellafield Ltd STEM ambassadors.

The Sellafield Ltd graduates exhibited at the Big Bang event where over 75,000 visitors attended in the largest celebration of STEM activities for young people in the UK.
