A major land and sea decommissioning project took British Nuclear Group another step forward with the recovery of the final sections of redundant Sealine 1 from the seabed adjacent to Sellafield.

British Nuclear Group\'s decommissioning team at Sellafield proudly exceeded 12 months without a single Lost Time Accident (LTA) in June. Given the variety of work that the decommissioning team are tasked with, this is an exemplary achievement for the 300 plus workforce.

British Nuclear Group achieved a major project milestone on the Sealine Recovery Project at Sellafield in May with the completion of the reinstatement of the beach adjacent to Sellafield.

This significant work involved removal of man made items which have supported the pipelines for over 50 years. A total of approximately 1500 tonnes of concrete and steel used to locate the pipes on the beach have also been removed.
