Sponsorship
The sponsorship and donations programme helps to support the local community around the sites where we work.
Each site controls its own budget and welcomes all applications for support. The guidelines will help you to determine whether your request will best meet the funding priorities and policies.
Funding categories and eligibility
The sponsorship programme holds a particular focus on:
- Education - specifically science & engineering
- Community enhancement
- Health issues
- The environment
Socio-economic development
Funding covers projects that take place over a number of weeks or months, one-off events and individual pieces of equipment, with preference given to projects when the site is the sole sponsor and when the contribution can be clearly identified.
Availability of funding
- Donations are typically between £50 and £500.
- It is unlikely that we will fund projects for more than one year.
Acknowledgement of funding
Opportunities are welcomed to communicate with key stakeholders.
Application process
A sponsorship and donations committee meets on a monthly basis to review requests. All applications are assessed individually and are selected on the basis of the above guidelines.
Each request must be received in writing by either mail, fax or email. Due to the volume of requests received, we will respond within six weeks of the date the application is received.
