Job Description:

We are currently working to recruit engineering staff at all levels required to engage in these site wide clean-up activities by the installation and commissioning of new and technically innovative plant, equipment and processes. These projects include the modifications to existing plants and the construction of new facilities which will provide challenge to the most competent of Managers, Engineers and Technicians.
The company provides a site wide commissioning capability of highly trained, motivated commissioning staff that are key to the delivery of projects from installation checks through inactive demonstration to nuclear active operation. The site wide Commissioning team provides a core of technical expertise that ensures a uniform approach to the demanding requirements of nuclear plant and process commissioning and delivers plants and processes capable of meeting the operational challenges fundamental to the Sellafield core business.
Commissioning Technicians are responsable for all testing requirements throughout all commissioning stages of projects. These projects can range from multi-million pound single projects to a portfolio of small projects. We seek Commissioning professionals who can bring a competance, experience and professionalism to the commissioning test role and that have experience of working within a commissioning team environment and under stands the specific requirements of project work. Activities include:
• Execution of Commissioning tests or the witnessing of tests carried out by 3rd party contractors
• Production of test documentation
• Identify faults with the ability to propose and implement solutions
In addition the role comes with the responsibilities to work with and provide support to, commissioning colleagues and personnel involved in other disciplines to;
• Conduct all work with a positive Health & Safety Culture for project delivery
• Improve project delivery performance and meet company targets
• Accurate recording of test results in an auditable manner to satisfy internal and external auditors
The following attributes are sought:
• Engineering Apprenticeship with HNC preferred
• Electrical, Instrument, Mechanical, Control Systems engineering background.
• 2 years + experience in a Technicians role in the setting to work of conventional systems
Salaries range from £26K up to £34K. In addition we offer a bonus scheme, 25.5 days leave (rising to a maximum of 32.5 days with service) plus 8 public holidays per year and a final salary pension scheme. We also offer a generous relocation package.
