Job Description:
Engineering Managers - £40k - £54k plus bonuses
Thinking beyond the rigid confines of repetitive design you will managing the delivery of engineering solutions to the exacting demands the nuclear industry. You will use your experience and knowledge in the challenging nuclear arena. Your role will involve:
• leading design teams in supporting operating plants, decommissioning of redundant facilities and the provision of new facilities
• providing key design authority support to assure the safety and quality of design solutions
• working closely with external contractors, and supervising and delivering core design activities utilizing internal staff
• Interfacing with the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, regulators, other professional engineering personnel, nuclear operators and the external supply chain.
• Addressing issues beyond normal UK engineering practices by employing innovative new technologies and solutions to unique challenges in a stringently regulated environment across a broad spectrum of mechanical engineering skill areas such as applied to the design of special purpose and high integrity plant, the design of remote handling equipment, the design of containment facilities for nuclear material and for the safe movement of nuclear materials.
The following attributes are sought:
• Chartered Engineer
• Ideally with design management experience
• Ideally with engineering design background gained in nuclear, chemical, or heavy industrial environment.
• Innovative and lateral thinker
