Job Description:
Control / Electrical / Instrument / Engineers (CE&I) – Design for Nuclear Decommissioning and associated new facilities. £38k - £52k
Thinking beyond the rigid confines of repetitive design you will provide innovative solutions to the exacting demand of CE&I Engineering within the nuclear industry. You will use the latest CAE tools in the challenging fields of decommissioning and for the provision of associated new facilities. Your role will involve:
- providing key design authority support to assure the safety and quality of design solutions
- leading design teams in decommissioning and the provision of new facilities.
- working closely with external contractors, and supervising and delivering core design activities utilizing internal staff
- interfacing with the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, regulators, other professional engineering personnel, nuclear operators and the external supply chain.
- Addressing issues beyond normal UK engineering practices by employing innovative new technologies and solutions to unique challenges in a stringently regulated environment across a broad spectrum of Control, Electrical and Instrumentation skill areas such as : Progammable Electronic Systems, Process Instrumentation, Safety CE&I Systems, Radiometrics & Special Instruments, Seismic Electrical supplies, Communications and CCTV, Sampling & Analytical Instruments, Image / Vision Processing, Environmental Monitoring.
The following attributes are sought:
- Chartered Control / Electrical / Instrument engineer or approaching chartered status.
- Ideally with a CE&I engineering background gained in nuclear, chemical, or heavy industrial environment.
- Innovative and lateral thinker
