Job Description:
Architects – Design for Nuclear decommissioning and site development £26k - £52k
You will be working as a key member of a specialist, in-house multi-discipline design team using the latest CAE tools to develop the concept designs for new build facilities associated with the decommissioning and remediation of Sellafield site.
You will be working closely with external consultants in design development.
Your role will involve:
- providing ‘design assurance’ to our customer for the safety and quality of our designs
- leading design teams in developing architectural and planning solutions associated with nuclear site processes
- working closely with external consultants, and supervising and delivering core design activities utilising internal staff
- interfacing with the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority customer, regulators, other professional engineering personnel, nuclear operators and the external supply chain
- addressing issues beyond normal UK architectural practices in a stringently regulated environment across a broad spectrum of architectural skill areas such as :
- concept building layouts for nuclear facilities,
- selection and specification of specialist building products and materials suitable for a nuclear environment,
- development and resolution of planning consent issues,
- development of nuclear site remediation strategies.
The following attributes are sought:
- Registered Architect, with preference for Chartered Architect .
- 10 years post qualification experience
- ideally with architectural background gained in nuclear, or industrial environment thorough knowledge of UK Building and Planning Legislation
- innovative and lateral thinker.
Senior Architectural Technologists - for Nuclear decommissioning and site development £26k - £42k
You will be working as a key member of a specialist, in-house multi-discipline design team using the latest CAE tools to develop the concept designs for new build facilities associated with the decommissioning and remediation of Sellafield site.
You will be working closely with external consultants in design development
Your role will involve:
- providing architectural technical support to both in-house and external concept layout teams
- working closely with external consultants, and supervising and delivering core design activities utilising internal staff
- addressing issues beyond normal UK architectural practices in a stringently regulated environment across a broad spectrum of architectural skill areas such as :
- concept building layouts for nuclear facilities including 3D visualisation,
- selection and specification of specialist building products and materials suitable for a nuclear environment,
The following attributes are sought:
- Architectural Technologists qualifications - membership of CIAT is preferred
- 10 years post qualification experience
- proficient in the use of 2D/3D CAD systems
- ideally with architectural background gained in nuclear, or industrial environment
- thorough working knowledge of UK Building Legislation
- innovative and lateral thinker.
