Creating a bigger stir than ever before

Coffee Morning at Sellafield Ltd

The world’s biggest coffee morning has yet again proved successful at Sellafield Ltd with our employees doing their bit to raise over £2,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The Highly Active Liquor Evaporation and Storage (HALES) Manufacturing Support team and employees from across the business contributed with raffle prizes and attended a cake sale bringing in a grand total of £2,382 for the charity.

The annual event was organised by Sarah Carpenter, manufacturing support, HALES. Sarah said: “This was the seventh annual coffee morning that HALES Manufacturing Support has held. The event is getting bigger each year and involving more departments from all over the Sellafield site.

“I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who attended the coffee morning and helped to bake cakes. We also had generous donations of raffle prizes from Costain and Blackbeck Brewery and the PSG football team, who wear Macmillan on their shirts, raised £65 which is greatly appreciated.

“Over the seven years we have raised a grand total of £11,354.00 through the coffee mornings and we are looking forward to holding our eighth coffee morning in September next year.”

Vivien Benson and Mandy Holmes also held a Macmillan Coffee Morning in their buildings and raised a brilliant £400.

Macmillan Cancer Support helps improve the lives of people affected by cancer, both those living with cancer and also their families and carers.
