Capenhurst named in 2011 European awards
Sellafield Ltd’s Capenhurst site near Chester were shortlisted in the Process Excellence awards.
The prestigious awards have recognised the team at Capenhurst for their successful Workout process, short-listed in the ‘Best Start Up Process Improvement Programme’ category. Other companies in the running for the award are, BSkyB, Cable & Wireless, Carphone Warehouse / Best Buy Europe, Kuwait Petroleum International and Virgin Media.
Nick Welch, head of Capenhurst site, said: “Being recognised at the awards is a huge honour for our workforce. Our Workout process allows our people who are closest to the job, task or project to recommend and implement improvements. By adopting the process we have achieved efficiency savings of over £2.5m."
The Process Excellence Network (PEX), a division of the International Quality & Productivity Center (IQPC), announced the finalists today (31 March 2011). The prestigious awards have recognised finalists in categories covering programme and project success across lean, Six Sigma, and business process management (BPM).
