Sellafield Ltd presents IChemE Engineering Excellence Award
Sellafield Ltd recently sponsored an award at the annual IChemE Awards ceremony for Innovation and Excellence 2008 designed to encourage, celebrate and reward innovation and excellence in the field of chemical engineering.
Held at the Hilton Hotel in Birmingham on 29 October, over 500 people attended the event aimed at recognising and promoting organisations who make an outstanding contribution to safety, the environment, sustainable development and other aspects of the process industries.
Sellafield Ltd sponsored the Engineering Excellence Award – an accolade given to the organisation which has achieved major chemical engineering solutions with particular emphasis on resource efficiency, lifetime value and process optimisation. The award on the night went to Shell Global Solutions Internation BV.
Sebastian Procter, chief process engineer for Sellafield Ltd who presented the award to Shell Global Solutions said: “Supporting this award has been an excellent opportunity in selling the Sellafield Ltd brand to the chemical engineering community and promoting the vital role that chemical engineering plays in meeting the challenges faced on such a complex site as Sellafield.”
