Sellafield scores hat-trick in CIPS awards nominations
Sellafield Ltd is celebrating a hat-trick today after reaching the final of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) Awards 2008 with nominations in three categories.
Commercial and Contract Management Director, Steve Morgan, has been short listed in the Purchasing and Supply Management Professional of the Year category and Commercial Manager, Linda McLean is up for Young Purchasing and Supply Management Professional of the Year.
The company Ombudsman role has also been recognised in the category of Best Contribution to Corporate Responsibility.
Commenting on reaching the final, Steve said: “I am thrilled to have been personally recognised in this category.
“It is also an honour to have both Linda’s achievements and our Corporate Social Responsibility performance acknowledged. I am delighted that our commercial performance is being celebrated alongside the best of our peers”.
Linda said: "I was delighted to be nominated by Sellafield Ltd for this award. The fact that I've been short listed as a finalist is more than I could ever have expected so whatever the outcome I'm still happy".
The awards, which are designed to celebrate and reward excellence in the field of purchasing and supply management, will be presented to the successful finalists at an awards dinner on Thursday 4 September at The Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
