North West Newspaper Awards – you still have time to enter
You still have time to enter this year’s awards and be in with a chance of winning a slice of that £5,000 prize money.
The awards, sponsored by Sellafield Ltd and organised in association with the North West Region of the Society of Editors, are given in recognition of the best journalists, newspapers and newspaper websites throughout Cheshire, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cumbria
The categories for this year are:
News Reporter of the Year
Feature Writer of the Year
Sports Reporter of the Year
Photographer of the Year
Young Journalist of the Year
Daily Newspaper of the Year
Weekly Newspaper of the Year
Daily Newspaper Website of the Year
Weekly Newspaper Website of the Year
Prizes are £700 for the winners in the individual categories and £150 for the runners-up. Trophies will be awarded to the daily and weekly newspapers and website categories.
Judging will take place on Thursday 22 May and the nominees notified shortly afterwards. Those short listed will be invited to a special presentation lunch in Cumbria on Friday 20 June where the prizes will be presented by Fiona Armstrong from Border TV.
