LTA Success
Sellafield’s Nuclear Decommissioning and Major Project’s End State Group are celebrating the completion of an exciting year of operations at Sellafield without a single Lost Time Accident (LTA).
Over 300 people have worked safely to deliver a diverse range of tasks and hazard reduction.
During the period key projects have been delivered without an injury causing time away from work. These included the demolition of the Calder Cooling Towers and the uranium purification plant structure.
The End State Group also supports the Sellafield site, through waste collection, handling and processing as well as site characterisation and clearance.
Phil Reeve, Head of End State, said: “To complete an extended period of operations without a LTA in such a hazardous industry is a tremendous achievement and has come about due to the continued focus and effort of all our staff and contractors to complete their works in a safe manner. All those who have contributed to this milestone should be proud of this accomplishment.”
