I have been fortunate enough to undertake three work placements at Sellafield; one full year and two summers. During these placements, I have been working in a plant which produces new fuel pellets for nuclear reactors, working on a variety of tasks as part of a team on the day to day operations on plant.
Overall, I have found my placements to be of great experience, a great insight into the world of work and also financially rewarding. I would recommend anyone enthusiastic about summer work experience, gap years or employment with a company to apply to Sellafield Ltd. Everyone here has welcomed me and guided me in my work whenever I have needed guidance and help. It’s great to be treated as an employee and not just as a student.
