I am based at the Risley office, working in decommissioning where I provide design support to other engineers from various disciplines. My main tasks so far have been sizing the service pipelines to a new maintenance building and designing wash rings for a sampling system. I have also calculated and reported the potential environmental impact of a proposed new project.
In the short time I have been at Sellafield Ltd, I have worked with a variety of people from various disciplines and found everyone to be very friendly and welcoming. I have deepened my knowledge of my chemical engineering and its application in the industry, as well as learning a lot about business structures in a professional organisation.
